Elizabeth's First Beach Experience

Elizabeth's Memorial Day '09 Beach Trip
We loaded up the SUV and headed to Williamsburg for several hours of beach fun. The day started very overcast, but heated up nicely to provide some good water entertainment.
Elizabeth is just about the happiest baby I have ever seen and is quite content doing whatever. She does really seem to enjoy making sure she is awake whenever something is going on. We tried to get her to nap at one point, but gave up on that idea. We had planned on stopping at a pool near the beach, but Elizabeth was out almost as soon as her head hit the carseat.

The sand eating began when we put her in the bumbo seat and as long as she could reach it, it was being put into her mouth.

Below is our second attempt at some water time. The first didn't go over too good as you'll see in the video. After the sun came from behind the clouds, water became an acceptable option.

Elizabeth is a lot of fun, but we are still awaiting the second sighting of the sand that she ate while she was at the beach.

First bites, Mother's Day and various cute photos...

BATH TIME!

Chowin' down on some grub...Elizabeth loves to eat solid food of all types, she seems to have no dislikes or preferences so far.

Mr. Gus commands her attention each time he walks into the room. She is fascinated by her hairy companion and reaches out to touch him whenever he is close by.

Happy girl!

Celebrating her first six months out of the womb.

Tummy time...we wish we could say that she enjoys it, but she doesn't.

Elizabeth loves to stand. She gets so excited and starts breathing heavily and concentrating on it.

A weekend at MiMi and BeBe's house. E's outfit matches the azalea's...on purpose.

She had better get used to all the kisses from Mama.

Two lovely ladies

Easter

Elizabeth has been growing like a weed since we last updated the blog. She has not started solids yet because the pediatrician likes babies to start at 6 months, so we are just trying to keep her full without food, which is no easy task. Her grandma and grandpa "pops" came to visit with her aunt Laren the weekend before Easter. She had a great time seeing them and of course they loved seeing her too. She rolled over for the first time from her back to her stomach on April 7. She decided she loved rolling for a couple of days and would end up on her stomach when sleeping. She didn't like that very much, so she has stopped rolling in her crib. She continues to sleep really well, but has cut back on her napping durng the day a little bit. She enjoys putting everything in her mouth and chewing on each item. We take her to church regularly and she loves listening to the music, but during the sermon she is a chatter box and one of us has to take her out of the sanctuary because she is quite the talker. Elizabeth continues to enjoy her jumperoo and has recently discovered a picture hanging on the wall of flowers that absolutely mesmerizes her. She is still the most perfect baby, and she keeps us laughing with her precious little squeaks and giggles. She also recently learned how to purse her limps and blow bubbles. We really are having the time of our lives! Here are a few pictures from Elizabeth wearing her Easter dress.

SNOW!!!!!!

We had about 10 inches of snow fall in Richmond on March 1-2, 2009. It was the most snow we have had since we moved here 9 years ago! Elizabeth probably didn't realize it was snowing, but it didn't stop us from taking her out in it!

Visit to Charleston

Catherine and Elizabeth took off for a long weekend with family. A great time was had by all and Elizabeth continues to prove she is a good little traveler.

We surprised Drew and picked him up from school. He was shocked to see us there!
